Don't listen to this shit if you are feeling depressed or getting over a major break up..... well it made me feel better.
Cool Ebrace lyrics Steven Davies Music by Monda.
Well I sure as fuck have had some highs washed down by mediocrity and lows
And I sure have made some mistakes in my time
But all the same. I have always willingly taken the blame
When we met I fell in love with you
Thought it was the first thing I’d ever truly gotten right
Well I was wrong. There is no eloquent way of putting this feeling to paper. I was fucking wrong.
Well I sure as fuck am sober as I write these works on the back of paper taken from my work. Work used to be something I didn’t like much but now I love it since I was bitten by this curse
Try as I might I can not wish you all the best
As you have made me feel the worst
I’d like to fuck you in ways I never thought good
But anger has made violence seen a blessing not a curse.
Well I was wrong. There is no eloquent way of putting this feeling to paper. I was fucking wrong.
I have said some thing that I regret
some may even be inside this song
I feel as though life from me has been taken
I have no where that I now belong
My lifes been taken in your cool embrace

Wow... The best kind of song is the one where you don't pull punches... This is indeed brilliant and I really appreciate the work you put into this... Definitely not a party starter, but heartfelt and maybe even healing... Thank you so much for working with me... We'll do it again soon, I hope...

Oh blue... yes, it is, but cathartic, too. It reminds me of watching opera or broadway musicals where they only sing instead of saying lines. I can picture the scene in my mind, and as personal as this is for you... you did a wonderful job, Steven, and Monda's music is always inspiring.

Now this is quite an unexpected pairing.
It does have a Broadway musical kinda feeling.
I can picture the lights dimming on stage and a spotlight shining on Steven's face as he recites this soliloquy.
Awesome lyrics Steven....even if you are swearing like a sailor.
The rawness of the emotion expressed in the lyrics really works well with the tapestry woven by Monda.
Very very impressive!

Don't ask me why, but this kind of reminds me of a late period Smiths song. Maybe it's the way you've set your voice against the music, or maybe it's just the overall sense of doomed grandeur. Obviously Morrissey wouldn't swear like you do though!
Monda's music is absolutely gorgeous and Steve, you really wring every drop of sadness from it with your brutally stark lyrics and great vocal performance. This song is so sad I actually find it hard to listen to.

Really like this song. A completely different feel/atmosphere to your usual stuff Steve.
Love the piano and strings, they just feel so good - they kind of convey a feeling of hope under the sombre-ness and this plus the gentleness of the music are a good contrast to the lyrics.
I can picture this song over the end credits of a movie

Wow man, I can't believe I never heard this until recently. I totally could have used this song when I felt like dying after some shit in my past. This is like the ultimate break up song, where you're basically saying, "Fuck you!" a thousand times over. I fucking LOVE it! It's soooo powerful and moving. I can just hear the fucking anger in your voice dude. It is sooo emotional, and the lyrics were ace.
My favorite lines:
"Try as I might I can not wish you all the best
As you have made me feel the worst
I’d like to fuck you in ways I never thought good
But anger has made violence seen a blessing not a curse."
dude, great song guys That piano just fits the mood perfectly. Great job both you. What a gorgeous masterpiece

I heard this earlier today... could not believe the level of passion you both bring to this piece.
Really sad & sorryful - but... that is what it takes to deliver such emotion.
The piano & string instrument arrangement is so expressive & Stevens mood/lyrics really cut deep delivering a level of sorrow & desperation that just grip you.
This is such diamond & pain as morbib/terrible as it is often is a key to deep artistic talents being used to such a heartfelt level.
Again... very sad - but so 'unique'... pure & focused!
