Lyrics for this song:
What the hell were you thinking / When you treated her that way? / Don't try and blame it on your drinking / as if that's any reason anyway
to find a way out of this suffering shackle
let it bring me closer to the end
When you said you were leaving/ what made you stop instead and stay/my heart keeps on sinking/in a pool of barnyard hay
to find a way out of this suffering shackle
I’ll eat away my arm as bleed into the garden if it brings me closer to the end
Once we used to sit there dreaming/Now its all just a nightmare/I’m sad to say it but I wish you were seeing/that this will not go anywhere

For the record I prefer listening to this version than my own. Great vocals and arrangement and that weeow noise is just fantastic!

Steven, I always enjoy the edgy bite you seem to have in your vocals. You don't hold back on that here and that makes this so completely different from Simon's version, which I also love. I have one question...what are you doing to that cat? After a while, the "cat" got into my brain. Poor cat! Seriously, I like the drama you put into your singing. Very nice!

Whatever that effect is, it sounds like a cat crying. But then, that fits in with the song, doesn't it? I think both versions are great, even though you give it a different flavor entirely. Pistachio, I think. JK, yours has a much darker feeling... but I may be swayed by Kill Sham when I say that I'm always waiting for darkness to fall when I listen to your music!

I really dig your vocals in this one The message is very well-delivered
I gotta be honest...this is probably my favorite song you have done!
BUT...
Bowl's right I think That misquito sound takes away from the sound I think It's almost distracting But besides that, I fucking LOVE this track!! That distorted-sounding guitar sounds soooo good and your emotion is better than I've ever heard it in any of your other previous tracks The melody is great too...keep it up

This is really cool, it shows you the power of music and how anything can be subdivided, glued together with new elements. Has a Velvet Underground/Early Bowie feel, I like the gritty flangey guitar. Sounds very tortured ... in a good way ! I like both versions of this song equally.

Way t'go!!!!!!!!!
A very different direction indeed!
This kinda reminded me a cross between Axl Rose, Freddie Mercury & David Bowie taking control of the vox - great style & fantastic implementation!!!

Love the way you've gone with this!!!

This is a kick ass change up from you. Normally you're acoustic. A bit of dist buts some edge on the track
As usual bro, I definitely appreciate the lyrics. The guitar fx or some fx in the background really adds to the mood of the music.

Wow...you're getting weirder and weirder on me. I absolutely love it!!!

Your lyrics always remind me of some long lost song that I must have written lying flat on my back during some drinking binge.
What the heck is that high pitched sound in my right ear. Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you're trying to drown a Muppet, but it seems to fit quite well with this bizarre tune.
Enjoyed it!!!
