Am I Go Thic(Dmusic Gothic Contest)

Ok I have no idea if this is gothic and really do not give a fuck! I hope you enjoy the sound I made here and some of its weirdness.
Banana Bread

Writen on Australia day in half an hour in 42 degree's heat.
Binbin Song

Buys a bit of Booze

This song was pretty much fully improvised and was really only just me trying to see what my new Guitar that I bought on my visit to China sounded like in a recording. I fully fucked up the drums I know but I was drunk and having a bit of fun so fuck off
Cool Embrace

Song to the mind blowingly awesome music of Monda called Cool Embrace. This is not exactly a happy song and I hope people will not find it too much of a bummer!! For what its worth I'm feeling better now.
Daddy What's Wrong?

I had no idea where the fuck this was going as I did it. I improvised the last half and after listening to it through I though oh fuck what's wrong daddy!!!!
Everything remains

At the moment a demo of me and the guitar. Hopefully comes across as a strong heartfelt tune and not a piece of shit.
Exercise my Demons

Song Written on train number 124.
Just

A personal heartfelt song. I know I have done songs like this before. This time I am trying to also combine some beats within it. Hopefully this helps the feeling of the track and doesn't cheapen it in any way.
Kristen(2008 recording)

This is a new version of a song I wrote for Kristen when she was very young. I am attempting to get better recording results here. Hopefully it sounds like that. I will be including this on an upcoming CD.
Lucked out

Lucked out...not licked out Hantu!!!!!
Lucky Man

I wrote this one for my 2 girls this evening. I have barely ever played the harmonica and I guess it shows. This song also makes me think a lot of the Eels...perhaps too much in hindsight. Oh well could be worse i guess.
Maybe

Recording this on my usual set up but also on a mac. I think its made it a bit muddy and am thinking about just having a cleaner version if ever released on cd.
McDonalds Daydream 2011

Made this on my laptop while watching the kids playing at McDonalds. Thank you to Loopmash.
Nightmare

This was meant to be a tender sort of track... I did the drums and for me its almost not as shit as usual..lol. This song makes me think of how sad it is to have lost Martin from this world.. I can't put it into any real words but part of the emotion in t
Nocturnal rainbow lady love

This is my first collaboration with Hantu in a very long time....maybe this song will explain why...Actually I think this is pretty good. He was a good bitch.
Number$

Song about the fun of sales and targets....
Ode to GT Original

Ok here goes. Firstly in my defence I have to say I really love GT Original and I also really loved the Doors. I appologies to both...
Outbound Dialing

This song is about the frustration of the process of outbound dialing. Its meant to be a funny song and the chorus hopefully will raise a smile with anyone who has worked outbound.
Recoil(With Simon Waldram)

Recorded with Simon Waldram in February in Sugar Plum studios Sydney.
Sensitive fat person song

A love song about a fat man and his food.
Shambles Man

I wrote this song more than a few years ago but have never really gone too much for the recorded versions. This is the latest recorded version and I did it while drunk.
Shot

This is my final song for now.
Struggle

A track I wrote and recorded for the recent FAWM. This is a slightly different mix to the one on that. Its a quick song but fairly epic in its own way,
Total Despair

I recorded this song a few years back now and I thought I'd do it again for some form of furture CD release. Not sure if this fits into the current CD plans but I like the positive mix of wanting to live even when you feel like you want to die.
Wham, Bang, Fuck

If I had got around to a chorus it would have included the words Wham, Bam Fuck... I hope people are liking my current fucking around songs. Its got me enjoying making music again even if some are a bit hit and miss...This also reminds me of GT.
Who do I vote for Joe?(Music by Monda)

I was listening to this excellent track Monda sent me a long time ago now to write and sing to and finally I got this singing in my head. An hour later here we are.
Candle Wax

This is one of my songs from 1997-1998. No often I use the word love you in a song.
50/90 Songs 2008
49/89 Song 1

Track one of my 50/90 Challenge. Done quick smart. Using a voice I have not used before.
Dramatic Rush

Oh another fucking song. That I think is pretty good.
Easy Song 2

This is a song that came out of no where. Its nothing really to do with me... Again I am putting on a bit of a weird voice in this one...lol
Finding words

Worked out the guitar chords last night and knocked over the lyrics tonight in a very short time. The verse is written in singular words taken from a thesaurus under the search "Word". This is something I've never done before. The chorus is a bit more
Love you left me

A song hopefully that sounds its from the heart.
Oh I love you oh I love you oh I love you.

A bit heavy going this one. I hope the vocal mix isn't too lost in all the other guitar sounds but I wanted to give this that harder edge. I think it great the way the lyrics present themselves in Fawm 50/50.
Where the hell did I put that capo

Song based on a true story. I may have gone a bit OT on the vocal effect....being tired and drunk on a Monday night will do that to you and I may well regret this song in the morning....oh well perhaps I'll make up for it with the other 47 songs.....Hope
FAWM 2012
All Stations

My start track for FAWM 2012. Audio only as I still wasn't fully sure if I was going to try to crack the challenge or not at this stage.
Dental Hangover

At this stage of my FAWM it all got a little bit weird. I decided to record a song about going to the dentist right after...going to the dentist with full numbness intack..ha ha
Mean

Track 3 on FAWM had a bit more of a nasty edge to it I guess. I think the lyrics came seperate to the music...I music itself had this mean angry minimal feel to it.
Train Set/Seat

Started to get a little bit of steam with this track. I recorded this on a train trip back from work. Ended up recorded the vocal on the laptop microphone sitting on the train station seat.
Steven Davies the Musical CD (in progress)
Dance Dave

recorded on my Mac laptop.. first track recorded to test the computer. Found out my audio device didn't work with the mac so there is only electronic sounds made on cubase 6
Drunken Geniuses

Happy Upbeat Bastard

First Track for Steven Davies the Musical.
The song that didn't really know itself

Another track from my upcoming musical CD. Should be either track 7 or 8. I really liked the beat I had going with this one and then I added the guitar chord thing and the words came fairly easy from that. Intense track I feel.
FAWM 2009 efforts
Jessica Jane 2009

This was a quick update on the original Jessica Jane...I even used the chorus

Steven Davies solo shit
Beg your Pardon

A recent song I wrote. I guess I would like to do a version of this with an interchanging Female and male vocal. So if you fit the bill and would like to do a collab version of this let me know Laddies..lol
Me by the way

I wrote this song as a big fan of GT Original. I wanted to do something that took some of him and mixed it with my own madness. Thats me playing the chopstick against my daughters money box by the way.
The Frances Song

I wrote this song about a year ago for my great mate Frances Plante Scott. I would recomend anyone who listen to it to check out her stuff at http://francesplantescott.dmusic.com/
Collabs with cool Fuckers!
You'll Die soon(Collab with Bluenevus)

Bluenevus sent me a rocking piece and 15 minutes later I'd recorded this!!
1. Tribute to the work of Engine 11

This is my attempt at a collage of the great lyrical work of Engine 11. Its a mix of various songs that I have enjoyed checking out. The music is by Mojosnake.
1) Steven and Kristen Davies Live at the Harp July 18 2006
Candle wax with Kristen Davies

This is pretty rough in its recording. I had my mp3 player recording us on our table covered by kristens jacket(didn't want anyone to steal it). I think the jacket fell down at the end of the track.
Can't(G rated version)with Kristen

Well this was a lot of fun to sing with Kristen. Its a pitty that the people near my tape recorder were talking a bit loud near the end of the track...oh well its live and this was a fun way to end my set.
2 Songs for my little girls
Jessica Jane

This track was sung with Kristen(5 years) on backup vocals. My first D Music Collab
4) Songs from the weird bastard
Drowned

I tried hard to make this better than my normal stuff. I tried using a metronome to get that rhythm right but didn't really suceed. Still its a song that has a lot of emotion. I hope I don't sound too happy singing it. ooops
The Living Things

My friend lent me his Rode N2 Microphone for the weekend. It could pick the sound of a pin drop. This is what I came up with. This track doesn't use my normal overuse of effects whch pleased him. I hope you all enjoy it. The song was improvised.
Pill

This track is dedecated to the wonders of prescription medicine. I wrote this while high on back pain killers. I was doing way to many for my own good at the time. But shit eh!! I had a bad back!!
